SFS focuses on training & educating the underserved rural youth, including women and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. 60% of its students are women, 71% are from SCST backgrounds. Through affiliation with and certification by highest national bodies (NSDC, NCVRT, IMA) its students are employed in over 60 hospitals, including major healthcare providers, all over India. Hundreds of families have been lifted out of poverty through stable and formal sector employment in healthcare, while mitigating the massive shortage ion availability of skilled medical technicians.
SFS is committed to reaching the last mile population. Seven (7) out of its eight (8) centers are located in Tier II/III towns, thus making it easier for rural students to travel and attend classes. We make sure no one is left behind, aligning perfectly with the inclusivity and equity goals of CSR activities.
Its sustained organic growth in last 10 years, and two (2) centers in IITs (Guwahati & Indore) is a testimony to its unwavering commitment to quality. It is doctor-led and driven and has its own study material in 5 different languages. Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) awards a CSR mandate to “Foundation for Innovations in Health” (FIH) for training of 180 women as General Duty Assistants, over a period of 3 years. This will involve training women at Raigad district as ‘Allied Health Professionals’ and creating livelihood for them in the health sector.
“Western Coalfields Ltd” (WCL), Nagpur awards CSR mandate to FIH on 8th July 2023. Through this grant, 60 disadvantaged youth will be trained and certified as health workers, thus lifting those families out of poverty.
Through this CSR award, FIH has established a state of art diagnostic laboratory, patient care learning centre, simulation centre and distance learning centre at SFS Academy, Bansberia for the paramedical diploma and degree program for the rural and semiurban youth.
Between 2011 and 2020, we have been supported by JSW Bengal Steel Limited, JSW Cement Ltd., JSW Foundation and JSW Utkal Steel Ltd in undertaking a multitude of CSR-linked training activities in West Bengal (Midnapore) and Odisha (Paradip). Over 200 rural youth from underprivileged backgrounds were trained and placed in livelihood employment in various hospitals.
