Geetika Rabha
Pursuing ‘General Duty Assistant’ course from School for Skills: Healthcare & Technology, IIT Guwahati, affiliated with National Skill Development Corporation, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Govt. Of India.
Geetika Rabha is from Sishugram Orphanage under the Red Cross Society in Guwahati. Geetika could not pursue higher studies after grade 10. According to the Red Cross Society, children can stay at the orphanage till 18 years of age. The Society provides orphans with an opportunity to earn their livelihood after that. Our school, in collaboration with Professors at IIT Guwahati and the Red Cross, had decided to admit Geetika under our livelihood generating program. After successful completion of the course, she has been certified by ‘Healthcare Sector Skill Council’ under National Skill Development Corporation and got job at Hayat Hospital, Guwahati as ‘General Duty Assistant’.
Ujjwal Mal
Health Worker, Digital Health Clinic, Tantipara, Birbhum, West Bengal
Ujjwal Mal, a 28-year-old graduate lives with his mother and father in a village called Kundira; in Birbhum District. His father is engaged in agriculture and his mother is a homemaker. They have led a very difficult life with meagre sources of income until he enrolled for the Healthcare Training and Skill Development Program after completing his graduation. He pursued the ‘Frontline Health Worker’ course at School for Skills: Allied Health Sciences at Suri centre, Birbhum, West Bengal. He has been financially supported by the West Bengal SC, ST & OBC Development and Finance Corporation, Government of West Bengal. After successful completion of the course, he has been certified by the ‘Healthcare Sector Skill Council’ under National Skill Development Corporation.
Currently he is engaged as a Health Worker in a Digital Health Clinic, supported by the West Bengal SC, ST, OBC Development and Finance Corporation. JSV Innovations Pvt. Ltd. remains the implementation partner helping Ujjwal like many others foster entrepreneurial skills among local rural youth through the partnership firm.
Suparna Mali Mondal
Floating Digital Health Clinic, Sunderban, S24 Pgs, West Bengal
Suparna Mali Mondal is a 34-year-old married woman. She has a daughter who is 10 years old. After her Graduation, she pursued the ‘Frontline Health Worker’ course at School for Skills: Allied Health Sciences at Sonarpur centre, South 24 Pgs, West Bengal. She has been financially supported by the West Bengal SC, ST & OBC Development and Finance Corporation. After successful completion of the course, she has been certified by the ‘Healthcare Sector Skill Council’ under National Skill Development Corporation.
Currently she is engaged as a Health Worker in a Motorized boat (Floating Digital Health Clinic). The Motorised boat travels across six islands of Sunderban to provide healthcare services and few diagnostics tests. This project is supported by a grant received from FICCI.
Tasmina Khatun
Patient Care Assistant, Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata, West Bengal
She is the youngest daughter in the family. She has three elder brothers and three sisters. After passing her Class XII, she could not pursue higher studies due to financial constraints. She pursued ‘General Duty Assistant’ course at School for Skills: Allied Health Sciences at Sonarpur centre, South 24 Pargana, West Bengal. She has been financially supported by Thoughtshop Foundation. After successful completion of the course she has been certified by ‘Healthcare Sector Skill Council’ and got job at Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata as ‘Patient Care Assistant’.

She is the only child of her parents. After completing graduation, she was unemployed & could not pursue higher studies due to financial constraints. She has been financially supported by West Bengal Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation, to pursue her course. After successful completion of the course she has been certified by ‘Healthcare Sector Skill Council’ and got job at Tata Medical Centre, Kolkata as ‘Health Care Assistant’ with a monthly salary of Rs.12,500 (CTC).

He has been financially supported by West Bengal Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes Development and Finance Corporation’, to pursue this course. After successful completion of the course, he has been certified by ‘Healthcare Sector Skill Council’ and got job at Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Limited in Chennai as ‘Public Relationship Officer’ with a monthly salary of Rs.20,000/-.
